Release Notes | May - August 2025
It’s been a minute since our last update (I feel like I always start these with that opener, but it’s true), and we’ve shipped more than a few things since then. With RE+ in full swing, we figured it was a good time to pop up for air and share what’s new.
Over the past few months we’ve made Texture smarter, faster, and more collaborative. We rolled out first-class alerts, batch orchestration, 15-minute metrics, and program self-service — a mix of the features you’ve been asking for (and a few you didn’t, but we think you’ll like).
Whether you’re wrangling demand response events, herding fleets of devices, or just trying to keep your energy data from getting feral, these updates are built to give you more control and visibility without adding more headaches. (Can you tell I’m writing this from the Midwest?)
So, what have we been up to? Let’s take a look.
#🚀 New Features
#Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
MFA is now available in the Platform. Orgs can require it, and if any org you belong to enforces MFA, it applies everywhere. The flow is simple: log in, grab the 10-minute verification code from your email, paste it in, and you’re good to go.
#Programs Creation and Management
Admins can now create and configure new programs directly in the Platform, complete with customizable slugs and details. This means that anyone can create and manage a web form for capturing program enrollment data with no code. From the Texture Platform you can log in, build your form, have a URL you can share and just go and take program enrollment for programs like DSGS.
And via our partnership with market access providers (such as Leap) that means you can easily enroll and monetize batteries swiftly and with no code.
And of course we handle not only the enrollment, but we also automate dispatch of all assets in batch when an event is called. This means your devices automatically push energy out to the grid and we capture all of the telemetry data to verify that it did what it was supposed to and we automate sharing with Leap so you can get paid for your efforts to help the grid.
Within the Programs tab, you’ll find an enhanced Overview page with filtered enrollment views, plus dedicated Enrollment detail pages to review participant info and update statuses.
Reports can be downloaded with predefined fields like name, email, status, and enrollment date, giving teams more control without extra back-and-forth.
#Program Events
A new Events tab inside active Programs now rolls up operating modes, device counts, and command details into batch views for easier troubleshooting. All times are displayed in your local time zone with clear labels across the Platform. Program events are built off our new and improved batch logic making it easier than ever to create events to your fleet.
#Alerts powered by AlsoEnergy
A new Alerts page in the Platform makes it easy to monitor device and site events. AlsoEnergy is an App on Texture so you can enable it on the Apps page (more details in our docs).
Once enabled, you can ingest alerts from AlsoEnergy or create your own, each with severity levels, types, site/device associations, and history. You can also make changes to Alerts via Texture and we will propagate those changes back to AlsoEnergy via their API automatically.
AlsoEnergy Alerts are also supported via the API, check the docs here.
#Scheduled Commands for Devices
You can now schedule commands to thermostats (like Honeywell, Ecobee, and others we support) directly in the Platform with defined start/end times. Activity logs track execution success or failure so you always know what happened. Find this from the Device Detail page > Actions menu in the Texture Dashboard.
#Collections by Tags
Use the improved Collection creation UI to group devices by tags, then share those Collections with third-party providers.
#Search and filter
You can now search across Sites, Contacts, and Devices, with improved filtering to make fleet management faster and more precise.
#Savant + EG4 integrations
New device integrations with Savant and EG4 expand Texture’s ecosystem giving more options, with less hassle.
#✨ Enhancements
#Workspace + Collections Sharing
We improved Workspace and Collection sharing by restricting certain fields to be view-only. The Workspace switcher UI now clearly shows when you’re inside your own organization’s workspace versus one that’s been shared. Collection devices are restricted to view-only.
#Metrics Endpoints
Metrics endpoints used to lag with hourly aggregation. That was too slow for some of our customers so we moved to real-time event-driven and now reporting is as real-time as you'd like (given the reporting window you're requesting) for a much more real-time lookback. This is particularly useful for use cases like understanding the energy being exported to the grid from a fleet of batteries in real-time for making operational decisions. Understand our Metrics endpoints.
#Workspace Switcher
The Platform now remembers where you left off. Next time you log in, you’ll land back in the last Workspace you used — no more getting dropped into Sandbox by default.
#Technical Documentation
We overhauled our technical documentation to make it cleaner, easier to navigate, and more usable. Check them out here.
That’s a wrap for now. If you’re at RE+, come say hi! If you made it to the bottom, then you’re also in luck… We’ll happily put $50 on black if you’ll match on red at the roulette table, and we split the winnings 🤝
Book a demo, you know you want to.
